As families enter our program, diverse houses of worship provide emergency shelter, meals and basic needs. Families move between congregations on a weekly basis, receiving counseling and support services at the HOME Flynn Day Center in Somerville during the day, while dining and sleeping in the congregations in the evening. Volunteers host the families in each location, extending the bond to our community.
An agency mental health professional evaluates needs of all adults and children and provides appropriate counseling and crisis intervention. Families receive individualized case management and financial counseling which helps them identify appropriate goals for obtaining and maintaining self-sufficiency.
